One of the things I appreciate most about living in the Borders is simply looking up. At the huge skies we enjoy here, in the open country. At night you can see the stars clearly. And by day there are often the most amazing cloud shapes.
Like yesterday for example. Freezing cold, intermittent hail, but everything suffused with extraordinary light. Borders land and skyscapes have helped me maintain some semblance of sanity while facing the challenges of self employment (don't believe the business advisors who say it gets easier as time goes on!)
Taking a daily walk around the Stow valley, or on the Lauder hill, sometimes slightly further afield, blows - more often blasts - away all mental cobwebs. A short, sharp and refreshing mental and physical reboot.
